About this event
The Manchester Marathon is the second biggest in the UK after London and one of the fastest, it's famously flat and the current British record was set on the course. Twenty-five thousand runners, another fifty thousand spectators, and a city that genuinely gets behind it.
If you're running, the last thing you want on race morning is a 30-minute Uber to the start. Our central Manchester apartments are walking distance from the Old Trafford start and finish area, and give you a proper kitchen for the night-before pasta.
Getting to Manchester City Centre
The start line is at Old Trafford cricket ground, Metrolink, 10 minutes from central Manchester, or a 45-minute walk along the canal if you want to loosen up beforehand.
The finish is in the same area, so you don't have to worry about getting back to a bag drop across the city.
Post-race, the tram back to the city centre is rammed until early evening. If you're staying central, walking back at a gentle pace is often faster than waiting in line.
Food & drink nearby
Pasta the night before: Salvi's and Sugo are the two that Manchester runners swear by. Book early, race weekend is their busiest of the year.
Post-race, every pub in the city centre is full of exhausted runners in foil blankets. Federal and Pollen Bakery do the best post-race brunch; Cloudwater tap room is the classic for a recovery pint.

Frequently asked
- How early should I arrive the day before?
- Most of our guests check in Friday or Saturday and collect their race pack on Saturday afternoon. The expo is usually at Manchester Central, 10 minutes' walk from most of our central flats.
- Is there somewhere to stretch / foam-roll in the apartment?
- Our apartments are mostly open-plan living spaces with room to lay out a mat. No gyms on site, but every property is 5 minutes from a David Lloyd or PureGym if you need a proper warm-down.
- Can I get a late check-out the day of the race?
- Yes, if the next guest allows, just message us a day or two before and we'll sort it. Most runners appreciate an extra hour on race day.
