Parklife is the UK's biggest metropolitan festival, two days, a packed bill across multiple stages, and more than 80,000 people a day descending on Heaton Park for the best dance, hip-hop and electronic line-up in the country. In 2026 it lands on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June, and because there's no camping on site, every single festival-goer needs a bed in the city. Here's how to do the weekend properly, and why you should book your stay now.
When and where is Parklife 2026?
Parklife takes over Heaton Park in north Manchester on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026. Gates open at midday on the Saturday and 1pm on the Sunday, with the music running until 11pm both nights. With a daily capacity of around 82,500 it's the largest city festival in the UK, and crucially, it's a day festival: there is no on-site camping, so you'll be heading back into Manchester each night.
That last point is the whole reason to read on. Roughly 80,000 people need somewhere to sleep within striking distance of Heaton Park on both nights, and the smart money books early and stays central.
The 2026 line-up
Parklife always lands a stacked bill, and 2026 is no different. Calvin Harris headlines the Sunday, his first Manchester headline show in over a decade, with Skepta and Sammy Virji among the big Saturday draws. Expect a sprawl across house, garage, drum & bass, hip-hop and pop, spread over the festival's many stages. Line-ups and stage splits shift right up to the weekend, so check the official Parklife app for the latest clashfinder and set times before you travel.

Browse properties →Where to stay for Parklife: stay central, not by the park
Heaton Park sits about four miles north of the city centre, in a leafy, residential pocket of Manchester with very little accommodation of its own. The move almost everyone makes, and the one we'd recommend, is to base yourself in the city centre and tram up to the park. You get a 20-minute journey to the gates, and the entire city's nightlife waiting for you when the music stops at 11pm.
Our pick of the areas:
- City centre / Northern Quarter: The sweet spot. Walkable to Victoria and Market Street for the tram up to Heaton Park, and right in the middle of the best afterparty bars and clubs. (See our guide to the Northern Quarter.)
- Ancoats: A few minutes from the city centre, brilliant for food, and a calmer base to recover in between days.
- Deansgate / city core: Smart, central and well-connected, good for groups who want space and a quick tram or taxi to the action.
Getting to Heaton Park
- Metrolink (the easy option): Take the Bury line to the Heaton Park tram stop, a short walk from the festival entrance, and roughly 20 minutes from the city centre. Trams run frequently, though expect queues at the end of the night.
- Festival shuttle buses: Official coaches and shuttle services run from the city centre and beyond on both days, worth booking in advance if you're in a big group.
- Driving: Don't. There's no festival parking to speak of, the roads around the park are closed or gridlocked, and you'll want a drink. Stay central and tram in.
Why an apartment beats a hotel for a festival weekend
A whole apartment is made for a weekend like this:
- 24/7 self check-in. The music finishes at 11pm and the afterparties run till dawn, so the last thing you want is a hotel reception that's shut. Every City Superhost apartment has keyless, round-the-clock access.
- Keep the crew together. Pre-drinks, getting ready and a group debrief over breakfast, all under one roof, instead of scattered across hotel floors.
- A kitchen and space to recover. Two festival days back to back are hard work. A proper kitchen for a recovery brunch and a sofa to collapse on make all the difference.
- Better value for groups. Hotels hike their rates hard for Parklife weekend. A whole apartment split between friends is far better value per head.
- Book direct, pay less. Straight through us means no third-party booking fees and a local team on hand all weekend.
After the music stops
Half of Parklife happens after 11pm. The festival weekend is the biggest in Manchester's clubbing calendar, with afterparties right across the city, from huge warehouse events to the late-night bars of the Northern Quarter. Staying central means you can walk between them and roll home whenever you like. Save Sunday daytime for a slow recovery, brunch in Ancoats, a wander along the canals, or a lie-in before round two.
Book early, there's no camping, and the city sells out
Parklife weekend is one of the busiest of the year in Manchester. With 80,000 people a day and no camping option, central apartments get snapped up fast, and with the festival just weeks away, the best ones are already going. Lock in your dates now so the only thing left to plan is your clashfinder.
